The 187th Legion was an elite legion within the Grand Army of the Republic. The legion participated in the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and was composed of clone troopers and at least one TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank. The legion was led by Jedi General Mace Windu alongside a Clone Commander. The troopers of the legion customized their Phase II clone trooper armor with purple markings and a small, dark pauldron on their right shoulder. Their commander utilized clone paratrooper armor with purple markings, a similar pauldron, and a beige kama. The legion shares its color with their Jedi General's unique purple-bladed lightsaber.
