Baron Karl Amadeus Mordo is the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth-838 and a member of the Illuminati. Once Doctor Strange was executed by Black Bolt, Mordo received the title of Sorcerer Supreme which gained him Strange's spot in the Illuminati. During the Scarlet Witch's War, an alternate Doctor Strange from Earth-616 and multiversal traveler America Chavez ended up on Earth-838. Fearing this Strange could be as dangerous as his universe's Doctor Strange, Mordo imprisoned Chavez at the Illuminati Headquarters and sentenced Strange to be judged by the Illuminati. However, Scarlet Witch, dreamwalking her Earth-838 counterpart, arrived and massacred the Quarters, killing all members with the exception of Mordo. Mordo tried to finally kill the alternate Strange to prevent him from escaping, but he was unsuccessful.
